360° preacher library
Isny im Allgäu – the Allgäu town with an eventful past and a hidden cultural treasure. Here you will find the only foundation library from the Middle Ages that has been preserved in its original state to this day. It goes back to a collection of the Isny priest Konrad Brenberg, which was first mentioned in a document in 1482.
The ribbed vault, frescoes and furniture of the 15th century preacher’s library have survived wars and fires unscathed. The shelves are stacked with valuable manuscripts and cradle prints from the period after the invention of printing (1450 to 1500). Particular treasures include Merian’s topographies (16th century) and an Amsterdam atlas (17th century).
The treasures, which are housed in a small vaulted study decorated with paintings under the steeple of the Protestant Nikokaikirche church, are rarely accessible in person and never for people with physical disabilities.
It is a matter close to our hearts to make knowledge and culture accessible to the whole world. That’s why a very special VR experience has been created here in Isny. We at in2reality have transformed the Prediger Library into an immersive, exciting and captivating 360° experience. It doesn’t matter whether you want to view the treasures at home in front of your desktop or rent VR glasses on site at Isny Info (Tourist Information) and experience the ultimate experience. The main thing is that this bookstore can be made available to anyone interested from anywhere in the world.
Here we go – in2reality, or perhaps this time we should say in2past.
